Each corner is cut and scored so that you can easily fold up the ends of the tray and fasten the tabs (that you can see in the diagram as the squares along the length of the box) with tape, staples, or glue. The lid comes down over the bottom tray and needs to be taped on 3 sides to secure for shipping.
